(SALISBURY, Md.) - Krispy Kreme Doughnuts had its grand opening at its new location on Route 50 today in Salisbury.

It's the first and only Krispy Kreme location on Delmarva.

Before noon over 900 people had come through the doors, and fans of the classic doughnuts, are thrilled the franchise is here.

Justin Morris said, "I'm a big Krispy Kreme fan. I'll tell you. I think Krispy Kreme is almost like an addictive doughnut. "

"Technically, I was on my way home from work passing through. I was going to stop at another place, then I saw hey they're open, so why not," said Brittanie Truitt of Delmar.

Store management picked the Salisbury area because they saw it as a perfect fit.

"It's a great area. We have great visibility, great traffic all over. Route 50 and the bypass are right there. So, it was a no-brainer for us. It fits our demographic. Also, the town is great," said Mo Rivas, a Krispy Kreme representative.

"I'm excited to see the growth here in Salisbury, some more modern things coming to the Salisbury area. So I'm really excited to see Krispy Kreme be here," said Morris.

Of course, you can get Krispy Kreme from doughnuts at many other places, but customers say this is where they are the best. Plus, there's more of a variety to bite into.

"I used to have to stop at the gas station to get it. But I just feel like they're fresher. They're not as thick and cakey. They are amazing. I love them, " said Truitt.

Rivas said, "Our variety is much larger than what you would find at the gas station or a store. We have 30 have over 30 varieties."

If you worried about ruining your summer beach body, there is still hope.

"One doughnut is not that bad. It's only 190 calories for an original doughnut," said Rivas
