(OCEAN CITY, Md) - The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ocean City, Saturday March 11th, will be one of the biggest events of the year because it's about so much more than one day.
Dean Langrall, of the Delmarva Irish American Club said, "Every year Saint Patrick's day seems to be the kickoff, maybe the unofficial kickoff, of the season in Ocean City...hey the parade's here - summer's right around the corner."
The parade draws people from not just Delmarva but from well beyond the area.
Sue Werner, from the Poconos in Pennsylvania, said, "We have an awesome time in Ocean City. They're great hosts to us out-of-towners."
Langrall said, "Kids, grandkids, grandparents - they all come down here and when you look up and down the street it's a sea of green."
The parade provides a boost to Ocean City's economy.
"A lot of money will be made, a lot of money will be spent," said Langrall.
Tomorrow, you can expect traffic delays on the strip from 61st Street to 45th Street on Coastal Highway.
